A huge emergency incident is unfolding at an Edinburgh Tesco with several vehicles, including an air ambulance, spotted in the area. The incident started just after 9am this morning in the supermarket car park on Meadow Place Road, Corstorphine.
Pictures from the scene show a heavy emergency services presence, with a cordon in place, while an air ambulance has recently landed. The collision involved a car and a pedestrian. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 9.10am on Wednesday, 18 February, 2026, we were called to a report of a crash involving a car and a male pedestrian within a car park in the Meadow Place Road area of Edinburgh.
“Emergency services are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”

A local resident told Edinburgh Live: "My son's dad was driving past and there were loads of four-by-fours, police cars, it was an extremely heavy police presence there.
He called to say, 'What's going on?' He said it was quite intense."

Resident shocked by 'sheer number' of emergency vehicles.
A witness who was shopping at the Tesco store said they were shocked by the "sheer number" of emergency vehicles.
"I could see paramedics working on someone, then an air ambulance landed in the car park," the local told Edinburgh Live. "I don't think it was just a medical incident, it looked much more serious than that. Especially with all the police as well."

A spokesperson said: "We received a call at 09:05 to attend a road traffic collision on Meadow Place Road, Edinburgh. We dispatched two ambulances, a paramedic response unit (PRU), a critical care paramedic (CCP), and an air ambulance to the scene."
