A drab and grey Edwardian property has been transformed into a stunning dream home with some simple DIY tricks.
Putting your own stamp on any new home is a must - but that task is quite often made so much harder depending on what dubious delights the previous residents have left behind.
The owners of an Edwardian House in Leytonstone, East London - Hitchcock House - however have totally nailed it, transforming the previously dated property into a gorgeous haven.
They post their handiwork at the property to social media accounts on TikTok and Instagram - @thehitchcockhouse - with one recent hallway makeover leaving their fans delighted by what they’ve achieved.
The total overhaul of a grey and dull hallway into a stunning and grand entrance has now been viewed an astonishing 2.4 million times and liked more than a quarter of a million times.
In a post with the title "How we de-greyed this hallway", the homeowners go through step-by-step how they managed to achieve the amazing new look - and not all of them are as complicated as some might fear.
The first step is a coat of paint - Pebble Shore by Dulux above the border and Black Glass by Elle Decoration below. Next is the removal of the dated carpet. They then sanded and stained the floorboards with a dark grey colour.
Another popular hack they used was the addition of false panelling before installing a stair runner along with smart stair rods.
Finishing touches included plenty of mirrors, artwork, opulent curtains, and luxurious-looking light fittings.
Hundreds of people have given their seal of approval in the comments section.
