A Place In The Sun buyers unimpressed as they admit property is 'step too far'

A Place in the Sun's Danni Menzies faced the task of finding Colin and Janet a property within their £350,000 budget. The couple were on the hunt for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home and were open to undertaking some renovations if necessary.

However, the first viewing didn't impress Colin, who immediately saw the need for a new kitchen, remarking to Danni: "I'm seeing pound signs."

Despite being taken with the property's breathtaking views, Colin noted that there was considerable work to be done. After a full tour, he observed: "When you got into the bedrooms, there was more work."

He added: "The bathrooms needed work, the kitchen needed work. Just a little bit too much really. I can see the character, I can see the potential but it's a big project."

Janet concurred, pointing out the extensive work required both inside and outside, saying: "It's a lot of work both inside and out isn't it? I think a step too far."

Danni responded with a chuckle: "A step too far? ok, so with the next one, something that's not got so much work inside and outside?"

The couple agreed, and Danni proceeded to show them four more potential homes.

Channel 4's viewers were quick to notice Janet's frequent references to her cherished canine during the property search, sparking a flurry of comments on Twitter, reports the Mirror.

One viewer tweeted said: "I think Janet has mentioned the dogs in every sentence."

Another expressed their irritation with: "I am swearing at the telly 'dog this, dog that!' Poor bl**dy hubby."

A different user shared their amusement, saying: "My cat has heard the word 'dog' so many times she thinks I'm turning to the dog side, so she has come and sat in front of the TV.."

A self-proclaimed dog enthusiast pleaded for moderation: "I consider myself a dog lover......but give it a rest."

Counting the number of times 'dog' was mentioned became a task for one person who posted: "Dog mention tally: off the scale, I lost count."

While another simply summed up the episode with: "It's all about the dogs."

After much deliberation, the couple informed Danni they needed time to ponder over their decision, considering the potential costs of renovating the third property.

Despite Channel 4 star Danni's initial disappointment at the lack of an immediate offer, it was revealed post-filming that Janet and Colin did go on to make an offer on the property, which was subsequently accepted.
