Hundreds of Vodafone customers have reported that their networks have crashed since this morning.

Both 4G and 5G network services appear to have been affected in London while users in Belfast and Dublin also reported outages.

According to DownDetector, which monitors global outages, users began to report issues shortly before 9am. Reported outages had risen to above 800 by 12.41 on Wednesday.

Issues were reported in various areas, including London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

Some customers said they were left unable to use mobile data services even though they had strong 5G or 4G signals.

Others said they were experiencing issues with 4G-powered routers. One frustrated user wrote online: "Any ideas on when it’s going to be back to normal?", with another asking, "What’s going on?".

At the time of writing, 38 percent of the reports were related to mobile phones, 33 percent to mobile internet and 28 to landline internet, according to the site.

Users voiced their frustration with the issues on social media, with one writing: "How are you not aware of any issues when there are thousands of people on X saying the same thing and why is the phone number, website or chat working, this is a Vodafone issue".

Another wrote: "Vodafone can you confirm the app and website are down as I cannot log into either…

"The app says there has been a problem (error code 8201) and the website has disappeared completely (server cannot be found)."

A network status checker feature on Vodafone's website doesn't appear to be showing any known national issues with the network, currently, and the firm has yet to release a statement via its social channels over the reported outage.

The Vodafone Group said in a statement: "We are aware of a technical issue that affected some customers today. The issue has now been resolved. We thank our customers for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience."
