Quality Samsung phone with 'no frills' less than £100 and 'superb value for money'

You normally have to budget a whole lot of money to buy your next smartphone - which is why deals like this one are worth paying attention to.

The world of big tech often focuses on its flagship products - if you didn't know better, you'd be forgiven for thinking that the only phones on the market cost around £1,000 (and that you need to replace them every year). But in reality, many of the biggest phone makers also put out superb lower-cost handsets.

Samsung offers the perfect case in point. Its most advertised phones are the Galaxy S range, but its Galaxy A lineup is also brilliant - and way cheaper. Right now, in fact, you can grab the brilliant Samsung Galaxy A15, pre-unlocked to work with any SIM card or carrier, for just £99 on Amazon, a big cut from £169. This is for the yellow version - the blue and black models are currently still at full price.

This is a phone that has been reviewed very well by experts, as demonstrated by a four-star score over at PC Mag earlier this year, and it's no wonder. Despite its low price, you still get some incredible features, not least a gorgeous and crisp AMOLED display with deep, lush colours and a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling.

The camera system is great, too, with a 50MP main lens that should be ideal for wide shots and close-ups, but an ultrawide lens is another option to take in bigger views. A 13MP selfie camera, meanwhile, means your self-portraits will look good, too.

If you check out the user reviews for the phone you'll find an average rating of 4.2 stars on Amazon and plenty of write-ups that praise it really highly. One happy user kept things snappy, saying: "Excellent phone, superb value for money." A second was similarly brief: "Easy setup, works well".

Another customer, though, did go into more detail: "The price is great for what it offers. Good memory and decent RAM. Good sound, video and display quality. The phone looks great as well. [...] Really good battery options, you can set it to only charge to 80% max, which can be a game changer for the life of your battery as it will not overcharge even if left plugged in, or just keep it as it comes at the 100% charge, obviously charge time depends on what you're using to charge it." Those are handy details to know about.

Some people do have some small critiques, like one customer who said: "I have to charge it every day didn't have to do that with my last one." This is pretty much standard in smartphones now, but still disappoints some people. Another user wrote: "When trying to bring up photos there is sometimes a long delay between me pressing the thumbnail and the photos coming up." After all, this is a phone on the more budget end of the scale, so you may also want to expect some processing delays at times!

For similar money, you won't find many better phones, though. One option is offered up by the TCL 40R 5G, which costs £109.99 and is similarly a canny bit of value (although it's not discounted in the same way). If you want better specs and don't mind spending more, then Samsung's own Galaxy A55 starts at £364 and is a terrific mid-range option.

Given the discount currently live on it, though, you won't easily find a phone for less than £100 that can compete with the Samsung Galaxy A15. It's a brilliant little handset, and this deal means you'll be getting it for a steal.
