Woman charged with murder after human remains found in search for man missing for weeks
Human remains were located at a property in St Martin's Road, Canterbury, Kent, on Thursday, leading to the arrest of a woman.
A woman has been charged with murder after human remains were located at a property as part of a missing person inquiry into a man not seen for more than a month.
Jeremy Rickards, 65, was reported missing on Friday, July 5, having not been seen since the beginning of June.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "While enquiries to establish the identity of the deceased are ongoing, the family of missing 65-year-old Jeremy Rickards have been informed.

"Mr Rickards had been reported missing on Friday 5 July having not been seen since the beginning of June."
Today, Saturday July 13, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Maureen Rickards, of St Martin's Road, Canterbury.
The 50-year-old has been remanded in custody to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 15 July.
The investigation is being carried out by detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate and residents of St Martin’s Road are advised to expect an ongoing police presence in the area.

On Wednesday police posted an appeal to help find Jeremy.
The 65-year-old was reported missing from an address in the North Holmes Road area.
Detective Inspector Louise Murphy, of the East Kent missing persons team, said in the appeal on Wednesday: "Jeremy's family have not heard from him for a number of weeks and we are very keen to speak to him, or anyone who knows where he is, so we can check that he is well."
