THE ROYALS have bid ‘auf wiedersehen’ to Germany and are currently en route back to Britain after a whirlwind tour.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their two children waved to crowds before jetting home this afternoon.
They were seen off by the British ambassador Sir Sebastian Wood and the mayor of Hamburg Olaf Schulz.
Diplomatic Princess Charlotte shook hands with both and the youngsters were handed a book each with a red ribbon wrapped around.

Prince George bravely bounded up the steps - ready to start his birthday celebrations.
Princess Charlotte was helped up the steps by her dotting dad while the Duchess of Cambridge said a final goodbye to the ambassador and mayor.
They colour coordinated in shades of red and purple - George in his trademark navy shorts and a shirt and Charlottle in a pretty summer floral frock.
They have spent the last week touring Poland and Germany, finishing today with a series of visits to industrial facilities.
The royals ended their visit to Germany with a tour of an Airbus plant, the aircraft manufacturer, whose Hamburg base is home to production, maintenance and training facilities.

During the visit the couple met apprentices, both German and English, and saw the assembly line of an A320 aircraft and view the cockpit of a near-complete plane.
Earlier in the day the Royal couple waved and beamed at the crowds when they arrived at Hamburg's Maritime Museum for a tour.

At the attraction, the royal couple celebrated the joint UK-German year of science, which this year is focused on oceans.
And royal watchers were treated to a glimpse Prince George and Princess Charlotte during their activities today.
