A blue day? Queen puts on brave face as horses disappoint at Ascot
THE QUEEN was all smiles despite her horses putting in a disappointing performance on the second day of Ascot today.
The Queen was all smiles on the second day of the Royal Ascot
Her Majesty arrived at the Royal Ascot alongside Prince Philip to see her horses run in two of the day's races.
However, the monarch had to put on a brave face after her horse Ring of Truth came seventh in the Queen Mary Stakes.
The 89-year-old's day got even worse when her horse Touchline was unfortunate to finish third in the final race of the day, the Sandringham Stakes.
Touchline was reportedly the Queen's best chance of a win this week.
Her Majesty's last win at Ascot came two years ago in 2013, when her horse Estimate raced to victory in the prestigious Gold Cup on Ladies' Day.
The Queen is not used to losing, with a whopping 1,600 race triumphs under her belt during more than 60 years as a racehorse breeder.

Her Majesty also stunned spectators with an elegant royal blue ensemble by couturier Karl Ludwig and a hat by Angela Kelly.
Bookies will be facing large payouts over the the Queen's choice of colour, which like yesterday's pink hat, ended up being the punters' favourite pick.
Ladbrokes' Jessica Bridge said: "Needless to say bookies all over the country are feeling blue.

"For the second day in a row favourite backers are quids in and at this rate we're going to have to shut up shop.
"Her Majesty loves a true blue number and those who kept the faith are laughing all the way to the bank."
