Prince Andrew's pal reveals his true feelings about A Very Royal Scandal
A Very Royal Scandal is set to be released on Amazon today, September 19.
Prince Andrew’s friend has shared that he is "depressed" ahead of a new three-part series, A Very Royal Scandal.
The series, which is to be released on Amazon today, will explore Andrew's downfall and marks the second dramatisation of the royal's infamous BBC Newsnight interview in 2019. It will star Ruth Wilson as Emily Maitlis and Michael Sheen as Andrew.
Speaking to the Daily Beast, Andrew's friend said: "He is depressed and Sarah and the kids are anxious about this show. You have to remember that he absolutely insists he has no memory of ever meeting Giuffre and denies having sex with her.
"He has never been found guilty of anything. He knows he f---ed up and he has taken his punishment."
They further explained: "He has given up his HRH, his military titles, his role in public life without complaint. I think he sometimes just wonders how long the punishment will go on for."

Discussing Princess Beatrice and Eugenie's anguish surrounding the situation, they added: "Put yourself in their shoes. This film is going to traduce their father and if they say anything to defend him it will just make it worse."
Also speaking out, a friend of Princess Beatrice told the publication: "There is nothing good you can say about it all. It’s ghastly for all of them. The girls are just getting on with their lives."
'Scoop' was screened by Netflix earlier this year and had Rufus Sewell in the Andrew role. Speaking of this, a former staffer said: "Some people thought he got off lightly last time but it seems Amazon have nailed him this time round."

She said: "Andrew seems to spend most of his time either riding around the huge estate on horseback or reportedly sitting in front of a big screen watching live coverage of planes landing and taking off."
The former Royal Navy helicopter pilot reportedly spends hours on an app watching aircraft taking off and landing across the globe.
He even projects the flights from his computer on to a large screen so he can follow them in real time, a source recently told the Daily Mail.
