Princess Kate's brother, James Middleton, has given a touching glimpse into her relationship with Prince William in his new memoir.

In his book, "Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life", set to be released next week, James shares several anecdotes about his Royal family members. However, it's his insights into his sister's relationship that truly reveal a previously unseen side of the Princess - including how meeting William completely changed her life and personality.

Reflecting on her transformation into the beloved Royal figure we know today, James reminisces about a moment shortly after she announced her engagement to the future King in 2010, reports the Mirror.

"Our family knew a day or so before it was officially announced in November 2010," James penned in an excerpt from "Meet Ella" published by the Daily Mail. "Catherine, Pippa and I go out for a walk with Ella and Tilly to our local pub in a village near Bucklebury. We sit in a corner, chatting quietly," he continues.

“Pippa and I want to be visibly excited, but we have to tamp down our emotions so no one suspects a thing,” he explained. “We make a quiet acknowledgement that we’ll always be there for each other, look out for one another, support each other. No matter how crazy things get.”

James Middleton also opened up about how Prince William has transformed his sister Kate's life and that of their family.

He wrote: "William has been in our lives for so long and we've grown very fond of him," adding, "He feels like our older brother and he and Catherine are so clearly a good fit, just right for each other."

Following the official announcement of his sister's engagement, James expressed his joy for the couple, particularly noting how they brought out the best in each other. "I thought how lucky William was to be marrying my capable, down-to-earth big sister, and I felt absolutely reassured that they were in love," he penned in Meet Ella.

"It was beautiful to see how he brought out her confidence," he continued. "She'd blossomed. I knew he'd look after her, and he does to this day."

The Royal couple, who met at St Andrews university over two decades ago, have gone from strength to strength, supporting each other through several key life-changing milestones. These include the birth of their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as well as offering a supportive shoulder through several bereavements, including that ofHer Majesty The Queen.

Recently, Prince William has been by his wife's side during her battle with an undisclosed form of cancer. However, the Duchess revealed earlier this month that she had successfully completed her chemotherapy treatment and was looking forward to the future.
