Whoops! Prince William accidentally soaks the Duchess as they tour New Zealand
PRINCE William might well have found himself in the doghouse earlier today after accidentally spilling rain water all over his wife, Kate.
After seemingly trying his very best to keep the Duchess dry during a downpour, the Duke inadvertently soaked her after losing the balance of the umbrella he was carrying over her head.
Passing the giant black umbrella over a door frame so as not to let the impeccably dressed 32-year-old get rained on, Wills accidentally turned the brolly on its side, resulting in an even heavier downpour landing on her head.
But seeing the funny side of the incident, the mother-of-one laughed before flinching out of the way.
Kate looked stunning as she arrived alongside her husband at the Aukland Harbour in New Zealand as part of their official visit to the country, opting for a rather apt nautical look.
She wore a pair of navy ankle grazer jeans, a blue and white striped top and a matching navy blazer, finishing off her look with a pair of blue wedges.
And wearing her brunette locks in a signature voluminous blow-dry, Kate looked every inch the yummy mummy.
Will looked dapper too, opting for a pair of brown chinos and a blue jumper, which he wore on top of a baby blue shirt.
Later in the day, the pair went head-to-head in a royal yacht race, where Kate crossed the finish line way ahead of her husband.
And joking about the defeat, Will said: "At least she'll be happy.
"I bet she is. Selfless husband. I wanted a quiet night."
Thousands of people lined the quays of Auckland's Viaduct Harbour to greet the royal couple and cheer them on as they sailed out in the rival boats in intermittent sunshine.
Horns blew from boats moored all around the harbour and families in small boats waved flags and banners.
