Prince Charles has 'wonderful' time sword dancing in Oman on last leg of Middle East tour
PRINCE Charles took part in a traditional Omani sword dance as he continued his tour of the Middle East with the Duchess of Cornwall today.
The 64-year-old was visiting the Nizwa fort in Oman when he entered a castle courtyard and a group of musicians started singing and drumming.
Queen Elizabeth II's son stood in the middle of a group and mimicked their dance as they performed sword tossing and mock fighting.
The royal said afterwards: "Can you thank them for arranging all this? It was wonderful.
"Ask them to make sure they keep the traditions going."
Charles and Camilla toured the stronghold, which is the country's most visited monument, and were greeted by children waving the Union Jack.
As they toured the market and met people making mats and baskets Camilla said: "I love these baskets, they are so lovely."
The fort is located in the heart of Oman and dates back to the 12th century.
The visit marked the fourth and final leg of the couple's tour of the Middle East. They have also visited Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
