Princess Eugenie steps down from anti-slavery charity as Andrew row rumbles on
Anti-Slavery International is the the world's oldest human rights organisation.

Princess Eugenie has stepped down as a patron of the UK charity Anti-Slavery International as the scandal surrounding her father Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein rumbles on.
The younger daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has campaigned for years to highlight the plight of the victims of modern slavery and trafficking, but to date, she has not commented on either the Epstein files nor the allegations against her father of sexual abuse - allegations which Andrew has denied.
Princess Eugenie's profile has been removed from the charity’s website, which previously hailed her work "across the board with leaders in the fight against modern slavery".

As revealed by The Observer, the princess's profile has been removed from the charity's website and her role with the organisation has ended.
In a statement, Anti-Slavery International wrote: "After seven years, our patronage from HRH Princess Eugenie of York has come to an end.
"We thank the princess very much for her support for Anti-Slavery International. We hope that she continues to work to end slavery for good and deliver freedom for everyone."
While the princess has stepped down from Anti-Slavery International, she remains involved with the Anti-Slavery Collective, a separate charity, which she still lists in her Instagram bio.
The Anti-Slavery Collective raised £1.1m at its inaugural gala at Battersea Arts Centre in London in November 2023. The event was attended by Ferguson and Princess Beatrice, 37, along with a number of celebrities, including the singer Ed Sheeran.

There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Eugenie or her sister Princess Beatrice despite being mentioned in the Epstein files.
Eugenie's father was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was later released under investigation.
The release of new Epstein-related material by the US Department of Justice has refocused attention on Sarah Ferguson’s actions too including her efforts to maintain contact with Epstein after his 2009 release from prison, as she grappled with mounting financial pressures.
