Buckingham Palace had to rush to fix a social media blunder this morning after they made a mistake in their latest social media post. On Monday, Buckingham Palace uploaded a post to X about Duchess Sophie’s ongoing trip overseas.

However, in the first upload of the post, the Palace wrote “this week” when talking about The Duchess of Edinburgh’s time in Peru, which was actually last week. They quickly fixed the error and uploaded the new post, removing the comment of when the engagements were held.

The new post read: “The Duchess of Edinburgh has been in Peru, visiting at the request of the @FCDOGovUK.”

It continued: “During her first visit to the country, The Duchess joined celebrations for over 200 years of UK-Peru relations and attended engagements on themes including environmental protection and women’s empowerment.”

Visits of the duchess’ time in Peru were also shared in the post, including one of Sophie in the Amazon forest.

This is where the duchess saw a sloth, held a snake and came face-to-face with the biggest tarantula in the world.

Prince Edward’s wife is not expected to land back in the UK until later this week, with the overseas tour lasting until November 19.

She is believed to currently be in Belize, where the royal will attend a number of engagements, including the national holiday of Garifuna Settlement Day.

The duchess will also learn about Belizean efforts to protect natural environments and visit the British Army Training Support Unit Belize to see the overseas jungle training.
