Duchess Sophie's ‘thoughtful’ tribute to Princess Beatrice amid Andrew scandal revealed
Duchess Sophie made a subtle yet heartfelt nod to Princess Beatrice during her solo Peru visit.

Duchess Sophie brought a touch of sentimental style to her solo royal tour of Peru on Tuesday, subtly honouring Princess Beatrice during an evening engagement. The Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, stepped out for a dinner marking the UK’s first year of the Biodiverse Landscape Fund programme - an initiative helping to protect some of the world’s most important ecosystem.
It was held at the historic Casa de Fierro restaurant in Iquitos. For the occasion, the royal chose a beautifully detailed floral dress from Beulah London – one of her go to labels. The Sienna Floral Bouquet is a design whose name is a rather touching nod to her niece Princess Beatrice’s daughter, Sienna, now four years old.
Beatrice, 37 and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, welcomed little Sienna in 2021 and later expanded their family with the arrival of Athena earlier this year back in January.

It isn’t the first time Sophie has shown her affection for Beatrice. The Duchess famously rushed to support the young princess when she fainted at a public event back in 1999, and over the years has been spotted close to her helping her during royal events.
These moments have cemented Sophie as one of the monarchy’s most quietly dependable figures.

Their bond extends into the sartorial world too. Royal watchers have long noted that Sophie and Beatrice, 37, occasionally step out in the same labels, and even the same garments.
Both women have become champions of sustainable outfits and consider fashion as a reflection of the monarchy’s increasingly eco-conscious direction.
This show of family solidarity comes at a challenging time for Beatrice and her sister Eugenie, whose public image has remained under scrutiny following the fallout from Prince Andrew’s royal downfall.

With their father stripped of his HRH status, military honours and royal patronages, and Sarah Ferguson no longer holding her duchess style in any official royal capacity, the York sisters have faced intense public pressure and continued media scrutiny.
Against that backdrop, Sophie’s subtle tribute feels especially poignant - a reminder that while the royal landscape has shifted dramatically, the Duchess of Edinburgh remains a reassuringly steady presence.
And on a night dedicated to protecting the world’s most precious natural landscapes, her thoughtful nod to family ties showed once again why she has quietly become one of the Firm’s most respected modern royals.
