Royal fans issue the same complaint over Meghan Markle's latest 'pretentious’ move
Meghan Markle's latest Christmas promotion has left royal fans unimpressed.

Meghan Markle’s Christmas promotion of her festive As Ever range has left royal fans disappointed over the neutral hues, following her latest video on social media. The Duchess of Sussex appeared in a new video over the weekend, uploaded by her brand on Instagram.
Meghan, dressed in an olive green-toned ensemble, can be seen beaming while placing a present in a beige stocking hanging from a fireplace before clasping her hands together and looking away. The short clip, shot with a sepia undertone, showed glimpses of the interior of the room, which appeared to feature brown, beige and green hues all over against the backdrop of glittering fairy lights.
But royal fans were not impressed with Meghan’s muted palette for the festive season and took to social media to express their views.

One user wrote on X: “A color scheme can be a beautiful thing, but a Christmas one based on the color brown is tricky as all get out! She and the artistic team missed the mark in a very big way w/this pretentious attempt at chicness.”
A second person said: “It’s a vomit green holiday collection.”
A third one wrote: “She just can’t be honest and admit that she likes beige. And there is nothing wrong with that. The only problem is, she should just admit that she lied about having to wear the color while in the UK.”
Another person commented: “Nothing screams festive holiday and celebration like BEIGE !!! One would think that after she felt compelled by the Royal Family to wear only beige , that it would be the one colour she would avoid after her “ Great Escape.”
A fifth user added: “The holidays are supposed to be colorful and bright lights full of cheer and excitement and laughter from the children.”
A sixth one joked: “There she is, the woman finally free to wear bright colors!”
The Duchess claimed she had to tone down her wardrobe while being a working royal in a bid not to upstage the royals.
She said in her and Harry’s Netflix docuseries: “There was thought in that [wearing neutrals]. To my understanding, you can't ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty if there's a group event. But then you also should never be wearing the same colour as one of the other more senior members of the family.
“So I was like...well, what's a colour they'll probably never wear? Camel? Beige? White? So I wore a lot of muted tones but it was also so I could just blend in. I'm not trying to stand out here. There's no version of me joining this family and trying not to do everything I could to fit in.”
Meghan is also bracing for the release of her Christmas special on Netflix, which will drop on December 3.
