Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie could be set to take on more royal duties in the future, an insider has revealed. Despite being nieces of King Charles, both Eugenie and Beatrice are not full-time working royals, which means they are not funded by the taxpayer.

Instead, Prince Andrew’s daughters have built up careers of their own. However, this has not stopped them from stepping into the shoes of royal duty over the years. While they may lead busy lives, Beatrice, 36, and Eugenie, 35, have always carried out charity work on the side - something they believe was instilled in them from a young age.

And now, an insider has revealed that the princesses could end up doing more of this as time goes on.

After Eugenie supported her cousin Prince William at a Buckingham Palace garden party this week, a royal source told The Daily Mail that she could be making more appearances on the royal stage soon, along with her sister.

Royal expert Richard Eden wrote in The Daily Mail: “She (Beatrice) and Eugenie are non-working members of the Royal Family, who are not funded by the taxpayer.

“Royal sources tell me that, with a smaller family circle after Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020, that may change in time.

“‘Although Prince William still believes in a 'slimmed-down monarchy', he is increasingly aware of the hard work of his extended family,’ a courtier tells me.”

In a recent interview, Eugenie - who works for the art gallery Hauser & Wirth - spoke about how she was always taught about the importance of giving back to others by her mother Sarah Ferguson and her grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth II.

She told The Telegraph: “I think I’ve got a good balance. I’ve got an amazing husband and team and projects I’m passionate about. I’d feel uneasy if I wasn’t doing my charity work, looking after my family and doing my job. I love what I do.

“My mum always taught me that giving back to others is the most important thing in life. Bea and I feel very strongly about this.

“My grandmother’s sense of duty was also instilled from a young age. We watched my parents, my granny and other family members working very hard.”
