'Real reason' Meghan and Harry won't be invited to Taylor Swift's wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are said to be planning to tie the knot next month.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry should not be preparing to receive an invitation to the next big celebrity wedding as the bride reportedly "doesn’t want people there simply because they’re famous". US singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is said to be planning her wedding to American football player Travis Kelce for next month, with their nuptials reportedly set to take place at Madison Square Gardens.
Writing on his substack, Hollywood and royal expert Rob Shuter wrote, that one source told him: "Taylor wants to look around the room and recognize every face. She doesn’t want people there simply because they’re famous." The expert, who spoke to Rob, also explained Taylor has closely watched celebrity weddings that seemed more focused on status than relationships.
One wedding in particular was Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018, where several high-profile guests had limited or zero connections to the couple before receiving invitations.
Rob also added: "Taylor has no interest in turning her wedding into a power summit.
"She wants a celebration, not a networking event."
This comes after Harry and Meghan did not attend his cousin Peter Phillips' wedding to Harriet Sperling on Saturday.
The couple, who made their public debut in 2024, tied the knot at All Saints Church in Kemble, Gloucestershire, on June 6.
As well as Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, who made a surprise appearance, a number of royals were in attendance to watch the couple say "I Do", including Princess Anne, Zara Tindall, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The Prince and Princess of Wales also attended, with them attending without their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
As well as her daughter Georgina, Harriet also had Peter's two daughters, Savannah, 15, and Isla, 14, as her bridesmaids.
