Meghan Markle is "triggered" by Princess Catherine's continued upholding of traditional royal dress codes, an expert has claimed. A royal "insider" compared the Duchess of Sussex's approach to fashion with that of the Princess of Wales and concluded that Meghan seeing Catherine continue to stick to royal dress traditions could "be a source of frustration" for Prince Harry's wife.

The source told Radar Online: "Seeing Kate continue to follow many of those same traditions can be a source of frustration because it brings back memories of a period when Meghan felt constrained by rules she never fully agreed with."

Meghan has spoken previously about her dislike of certain elements of the royal dress code, including wearing nude hosiery, arguing it felt "inauthentic". Catherine, on the other hand, is expected as a senior working royal to maintain "a polished, consistent image" during official engagements, according to the same source.

The source's reading appears to imply Catherine embraced the requirements of the royal wardrobe more successfully than Meghan.
