Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have issued a new statement just days before their trip to Canada for this year's Invictus Games, which will kick off this Saturday, February 8.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took to their official Archewell Foundation website, the charity they set up in 2020, to mark Black History Month, which, unlike the UK where it's celebrated in October, is celebrated in February in the United States and Canada.

Harry and Meghan urged people to "learn and reflect on the contributions of leaders, activists, and changemakers who have inspired progress" and listed a series of resources that people can use to learn more about the celebration, which, among others included the California African American Museum in Los Angeles, the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco, the African American Museum in Dallas and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC.

Their statement read: "At The Archewell Foundation, we celebrate the rich culture and contributions of those who have come before us throughout history. As we mark Black History Month, we encourage everyone to learn and reflect on the contributions of leaders, activists, and changemakers who have inspired progress.

"Taking the time to appreciate stories, art, history, and culture not only honors the communities that have built these spaces, but also contributes to our collective wellbeing."

Fans agree on the job Princess Kate would have been great at if she wasn't a royal

Princess Kate has delighted royal fans on Tuesday after she stepped off a school bus in London to visit the National Portrait Gallery...

While many royal fans were quick to compliment the princess’ outfit and mode of transport, others were keen to express their opinion on the princess and what job they think she would have been great at if she hadn’t become a member of the Royal Family.

According to royal fans, the princess and mum-of-three would have made a good school teacher if she hadn’t married Prince William, who is currently first-in-line to the throne.

Princess Kate and King Charles share a key trait that helped her through cancer treatment

Princess Kate marked World Cancer Day this year by publishing a new photograph of herself standing in a woodland.

The Princess of Wales, 43, posted a photo of herself standing on a tree trunk with her arms outstretched on Monday. The photograph is believed to have been taken in Windsor last month by Prince Louis.

The release of the photo comes after Kate confirmed her cancer was in remission in January, just short of a year after she was first diagnosed with the disease.

As reported by GB News, one body language expert believes Kate would have chosen the woodland area for the photograph's setting. She has been vocal about the importance of nature in helping her deal with her cancer diagnosis.

Expert Judi James says this is something the princess shares with nature-lover King Charles, 76, who was also diagnosed with cancer last year and is still undergoing treatment.

Prince William's 'subtle battle' to keep George, Louis and Charlotte out of spotlight

Prince William is reportedly engaging in a more "subtle battle" to shield his family from the prying eyes of the media than his brother Prince Harry, according to a royal expert.

Unlike Prince Harry, who has openly clashed with the press about its intrusiveness, the Duke of Cambridge is said to be playing a quieter, behind-the-scenes game.

The i's royal correspondent Richard Palmer suggests that although William shares similar concerns as Harry regarding media involvement in their lives, he takes a less strong stance in trying to protect Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis.

Prince Harry mocked over living in Montecito as home dubbed 'most boring place'

Prince Harry's hometown in California was labelled "bland" and the "most boring place" to live in a damning review by a British journalist who visited Montecito to see what it was like.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex settled in Montecito, California back in 2020 following their exit from the Royal Family and move to the US.

Harry and Meghan live in a lavish mansion in the quaint town of Santa Barbara, and now The Times columnist Katie Glass has paid a visit to see what life there is all about.

But the visit left the journalist unimpressed, as she dubbed the place "bland" and the "most boring place" she has ever been despite living "in a field in Somerset".

Prince Andrew is 'terrified to visit US' after calls for FBI probe

Prince Andrew is reportedly “terrified to visit the US” as a result of calls for a fresh FBI investigation in the US into the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, it's been claimed.

A source told The Sun that the Duke of York, 64, fears getting arrested if he travels to the States as a result of the Epstein scandal, which resulted in the duke stepping down from all royal duties in 2019 as a result of his past relationship with the late convicted paedophile.

The duke’s fears are reportedly now more intense after Donald Trump's nominee for FBI director has pledged to “do everything” possible to expose the people who enabled Epstein, with lawyers representing the victims urging the UK Government to hand over Prince Andrew for questioning.

This comes years after it emerged that the duke had been friends with Epstein, which was followed by accusations of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre, who claimed the duke sexually assaulted her when she was a minor.

Princess Anne's two-word nickname for King Charles as she's dubbed 'most reliable ally'

Princess Anne's affectionate nickname for King Charles highlights just how close the royal siblings are. In a documentary based on Charles' Coronation in 2023, the Princess Royal was heard playfully referring to the 76-year-old as an "old bean".

The King, clearly amused by the moniker, was seen chuckling before kissing Anne's hand. Known for her forthright nature, the 74-year-old is said to be the person Charles turns to for honest advice, both in his professional and personal life.

Following her recent comment that retirement isn't an option for her, the King is said to have mixed emotions about her decision.

While he "can't bear" the idea of Anne feeling compelled to work amid his health concerns, he is simultaneously "overjoyed" that she continues to stand by him.

Meghan Markle branded 'inspiring' for donating own clothes to LA wildfire victims

Meghan Markle donated her own clothes to those in need during the LA wildfires, a charity founder has said.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has been hit with various criticisms over recent weeks, including harsh claims that her volunteering work in California amid the horrific wildfires was for publicity.

It was shortly followed by a damning Vanity Fair article where Meghan was accused of mistreating past employees.

The claims have reportedly been distressing for the duchess and Prince Harry, who have not publicly commented on them.

But while the duchess may be having a hard time, a charity founder who saw Meghan’s work first-hand during the worst of the Californian wildfires has come to her defence, saying that the duchess even went as far as bringing clothes in from her own closet to help those in need.
