Prince William caused a right royal fan frenzy after he carried out an engagement today sporting a pair of bright white trainers.

The Prince of Wales attended a community event hosted by the NFL Foundation at Kennington Park Hockey Turf to learn about the organisation's efforts to support young people in some of the most deprived areas in the UK through flag football.

William looked dapper in a pair of black smart trousers, a black blazer and a light blue shirt. But it was his footwear choice which caught everyone's attention, as he sported a pair of white trainers.

The future King was seen wearing what appeared to be the exact same pair of trainers he wore last year during rehearsals for the Earthshot Prize Awards.

Royal fans went wild for William's shoes and took to social media to express their views.

Prince William was all smiles today as he met with representatives from NFL UK and community partners from the Foundation to learn more about the programme.

He also spoke with young people about how they have benefited from the programme before engaging with them in NFL flag activities including catching, receiving and throwing.

Flag football is the non-contact version of American football, where tackles are made by pulling off flags which all players wear on their hips, according to the British American Football Association.

The NFL Foundation, which is celebrating its three-year anniversary, is the first international NFL charitable arm and targets areas of the UK with high levels of deprivation and low levels of physical activity, currently engages around 23 community organisations across London, Birmingham, Greater Manchester and Leeds, reaching more than 6,000 young people.
