What are David Tennant’s most famous roles to date?

Scottish actor David Tennant is one of the UK’s most celebrated actors, having brought the most popular iteration of the Doctor to life in Russell T Davies’ era of Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010.

He also joined the Marvel universe when he played the villain Kilgrave in the superhero series Jessica Jones, which aired between 2015 and 2019.

Additionally, David has enjoyed an impressive stage career, portraying the titular character in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2008 production of Hamlet, which was later adapted for television.

Who is David Tennant’s wife?

David Tennant met his wife Georgia Tennant under rather unusual circumstances, as she once played his daughter, Jenny, on BBC One’s Doctor Who.

The 39-year-old actress, previously known as Georgia Moffett, is also the daughter of Doctor Who legend Peter Davison and his actress ex-wife Sandra Dickinson.

In 2008, David and Georgia appeared on-screen together in the Doctor Who episode entitled The Doctor's Daughter, where she portrayed the central character’s artificially created adult daughter.

The pair started dating after meeting on set and got married in a low-key ceremony in 2011, with a close friend telling members of the press at the time: “David and Georgia are madly in love. They have tried to keep everything quiet and the wedding is for family and closest friends only."

Georgia first made her TV debut in 1999 when she was aged just 15, appearing as Nicki Davey in Peak Practice.

She is probably best known for her recurring role as Abigail Nixon in The Bill, which she held from 2007 to 2009.
