Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Colombia tour has been torn apart as it is deemed "less impactful" than the ones carried out by members of the Royal Family.

The couple marked their second international tour of this year last week - taking place just three months after their visit to Jamaica.

As reported by the Mirror, the publication's readers appeared less than impressed by Meghan and Harry's latest tour - comparing it to any carried out by the Royal Family.

Meghan and Harry, who stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, paid a visit to local schools to promote the importance of digital literacy and mental health awareness - as well as appearing at a summit about online safety.

When asked whether they believed the couple's visit was "more impactful" than the Royal Family's tours - 90 percent of the around 6,015 people who took part said "no, they're not".

Around 5,405 of those polled said that they were not "more impactful" than the Royal Family's visits - with one reader saying that they are "not in the same class" as the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Along with their vote, another reader said: "[Harry and Meghan] are not working royals and as such this is not a Royal Tour. It is simply a freebie holiday to keep them in the limelight which is paramount to them, without which they would be what they actually are, nonentities." Providing their thoughts, another reader commented: "Impact how? They have no status and no power to affect countries."

A fourth added: "They are not touring like the Royals. No protocol. No dress code. This tour is to promote them, nothing to do with the UK government or King Charles himself. Just remember that."

Nine percent voted that their tour was more "impactful", with one reader adding: "While Harry and Meghan were in Colombia they visited a number of places that use unique ways of dealing with abuse to children."
