For the first time in three years, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given their first joint interview, with the Duke appearing 'distant and disengaged', according to one expert.

Body language expert Judi James has recognised the couple’s ‘growing maturity’ but also revealed Meghan was forced to take charge at times.

The couple’s last interview was in 2021 with Oprah Winfrey, but since then, a lot has changed.

Settled into California, the pair are comfortable in their post-palace life. They have also welcomed their second child, Lilibet. Judi has noticed changes in their communication style.

Speaking to CBS News Sunday Morning, they discussed how they want to protect their children from harmful online content.

They told Jane Pauley about the work they have been doing in this area recently, Meghan said: "We can see what's happening in the online space, we know that there's a lot of work to be done there and we're just happy to be a part of change for good."

Harry and Meghan have launched a new initiative, The Parents Network, which connects families affected by suicide related to online bullying after the trolling and abuse they received online.

Speaking with the Mirror, Judi noted how the 'power couple' appeared to display a 'growing maturity'... Judi explained: "Their synchronicity and their togetherness signals as a power couple suggest some growing maturity as they sit further apart than normal to perhaps promote themselves as individuals united by the cause as well as by their marriage, and by the way their pace and tone of both speech and movement is so contrasting rather than blending them into one professional unit as they used to do years ago."

She also went on to note how Meghan appeared to be 'taking the lead' in the interview by 'using a blend of celebrity charm and concern to create a relationship with their interviewer' and 'making careful segues between their home life and their campaign'.

By contrast, Judi asserted that Harry appeared at times 'disengaged', and could be seen 'gazing off into the distance with a serious facial expression' at some points during the interview.

Following a successful two-year pilot programme, The Parents' Network, is available for parents to join in the US, UK and Canada. This 'safe, free-to-access peer-support network' includes 'comprehensive advice and resources provided by a licensed facilitator and is said to offer 'invaluable support to those in need'.

There was no mention of other members of the Royal Family in the interview.
