Queen Camilla appeared to let slip an 10-word remark about escaping the Royal Family's ongoing drama at Wimbledon on July 9.

The Queen - who will celebrate her 77th birthday next week - was joined by her sister Annabel as the pair paid a special visit to the annual tennis event on Wednesday.

Camilla got to watch the quarter-final action from the Centre Court on the 10th day of the event, and was dressed for her day out in a cream linen dress featuring large giraffe motifs.

After arriving at the championships, Camilla met former player Laura Robson. Upon speaking to Laura, the Queen appeared to tell her how her day was going and that it was "so nice to be able to escape for a day".

The Queen was also able to meet a fellow Camila, in the form of the Mexican doubles player Santiago Gonzalez's young daughter.

The young girl eagerly introduced herself to the royal, with the Queen telling her, "fancy having two Camillas here".

The royal then asked young Camila if she would like a picture together, and the two then posed. Camila then took the opportunity to read the royal's lanyard.

Camilla and Annabel were joined in the royal box by the likes of Abba's Bjorn Ulvaeus, actors Richard E Grant and Sir David Suchet and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

Peter Phillips - Princess Anne's son - also joined his aunt in the box, alongside his new girlfriend Harriet Sperling.

The box all joined to watch the former Wimbledon singles champion Elena Rybakina, of Kazakhstani, go head-to-head with Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina in the quarter-final.
