Kate, the Princess of Wales has started taking some meetings while she continues to receive cancer treatment, Kensington Palace has confirmed.

In the first major update on her health since she confirmed she was being treated in March, the Palace said the Princess of Wales is not returning to her duties quite yet.

She said: "My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."

But Kate has been attending some meetings when she feels up to it as she still undergoes preventative chemotherapy.

Kate announced she was receiving treatment with a touching video released in March.

She confirmed that she was receiving preventative medical care after she was diagnosed with cancer following an unrelated abdominal surgery earlier this year.

The comments came as Kensington Palace shared a much-awaited update on the Princess of Wales's health.

The Palace said the Princess of Wales will be joining her husband Prince William and their three children at Trooping the Colour in central London on Saturday.

The outing will mark the first public event she has attended since Christmas mass at Sandringham last year.

Reacting to the decision, Buckingham Palace released a statement from the King in which expressed his "delight" at the prospect of the Princess of Wales attending the event.

The statement read: "His Majesty is delighted that the Princess is able to attend tomorrow's events, and is much looking forward to all elements of the day."

The Princess of Wales also expressed her gratitude to the public for the messages of love and support they shared since she confirmed her diagnosis.

Kate said she was "blown away" by their kind words and insisted she is making "good progress."

She said: "I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

"It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times."

The Palace also released a new photo of the Princess of Wales taken earlier this week in Windsor earlier this week.
