Meghan Markle is “not fair” to keep her children with Prince Harry in California while King Charles battles cancer, a royal expert says.
Describing herself as the UK’s youngest royal commentator, Lydia Alty spoke exclusively to the Express following reports Harry is exploring options to return back to the UK after his brief visit.
Alty claims Meghan should “put all the past behind her” during this sensitive time for the Royal Family, “and whatever she doesn't like about the royals and let her family and her children see the King.”
“Lili and Archie need to see their grandfather,” Alty continued.
“It's not fair just to whisk them away to California and deprive them of contact.
“Of course, we don't know the full story, she might want to see her family in the UK, and might be skeptical for her family’s safety.
“But all in all I believe if she's not happy she should let them come back to the UK, to see him, because King Charles would obviously love to see his grandchildren and I think it would be lovely, especially during this time, for the King to spend special time with them.”
In addition to the King’s cancer diagnosis, Kate, Princess of Wales has also been in hospital recently and recovering in Adelaide Cottage. She’s not expected to return to royal duties until after Easter.
Kensington Palace has maintained that the Princess of Wales is still doing well as she recovers from abdominal surgery.

This followed reports that Prince William had pulled out of a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece due to a "personal matter".
“I personally think the reason Meghan and Harry haven't taken their children to see the King is purely because they don't particularly get along with Harry's side of the family ever since the rift,” Alty added.
“They haven't brought their children back to England let alone to see their grandfather.
“This to me shows that Harry and Meghan are either concerned for their safety, or they just don't want them to see him because perhaps they just don't get along.”
The commentator claimed it’s “unlikely” that Meghan’s work commitments are getting in the way, as very few of her projects have cemented her in the US.
“It is a real shame that they haven't been back in the UK because King Charles is really close to his UK-based Grandchildren, 10-year-old Prince George, 8-year-old Princess Charlotte and 5-year-old Prince Louis,” she continued.
“Many people question if Meghan took the time to respect our traditions and that's what you should do before joining a family.
“I hope she eventually will let them see him, but I doubt it will be any time soon.”
