Prince William went 'radio silent' on Harry when 'explosive' claims made him a 'villain'
A royal expert appeared on this week's episode of Palace Confidential, saying Prince William was painted as a "villain" in Spare.

Prince Harry's tell-all memoir Spare was released in January of this year, and people are still recovering from the shock of its content, including royal expert Rebeca English.
English appeared on this week’s episode of Palace Confidential, saying Prince William was painted as a “villain” in Spare.
“We thought it might be the King and the Queen who were the villains of the piece, but it actually turned out to be his older brother,” says English.
English explained why this was so surprising to her and, most likely, hurtful to William.

She recaps a passage from Harry’s book, where Harry and William have a physical altercation, William grabs Harry by the shirt, which results in Harry falling to the ground, and landing on the dog bowl.
English found the turn of events to be disheartening, saying, “They did everything together, so to see that explode once and for all so nastily was actually really sad to see.”
That was just one of the many stories, with English saying “the explosive details” resulted in William going “radio silent.”

Spare came out in January 2023, and any chance of things quieting down was squashed when Omid Scobie’s Endgame came out in November.
English says of the hot-button issue: "It's raised uncomfortable situations again for the family, I include Harry and Meghan in that, that they were hopeful in trying to bury.”
She adds: “The issue of trust has come up again because people have spoken to Omid Scobie, and I can tell you now that it's not people at Buckingham Palace.”
