Princess Kate remains YOUR royal favourite despite Princess Anne’s popularity boost

The Princess Royal's improved popularity in Britain has not had an effect on Express.co.uk readers who voted the Princess of Wales as the most popular royal.

has been voted as the favourite member of the by Express.co.uk readers in a , despite beating her as the most popular in a recent YouGov survey.

, with just 15 percent of Britons having a negative view of the 72-year-old, according to polling of 2,014 adults conducted between June 7 and 8.

The Princess of Wales came a close second with a favourability rating of +59, up five points from +54 in April. Yet Kate continues to be the , with more than a third backing her as their favourite.

As part of a set of polls that ran from 7am on Saturday, June 24, to 2.30pm on Tuesday, June 27, : “Who is your favourite member of the Royal Family?”

Some 4,291 votes were received with 37 percent (1,585 people) backing Kate as their favourite member of the Firm.

The Princess Royal still scored well among readers, coming in second place with 16 percent (682 people) but was closely followed by Prince William who secured 15 percent (639 people) of the vote.

Prince Edward finished in fourth place after receiving the backing of nine percent (368 people) of readers, finishing ahead of the King who raked in six percent (278 people) of the vote.

In the , readers shared their thoughts on who their favourite royal is, with username kingathelstan writing: “The Princess of Wales, Anne and William are the clear favourites of the people; always bunched up together at the top.”

But username Worldwatcher thought that the King deserved more recognition, commenting: “I would have said, Catherine the Princess of Wales but our King has impressed me since he inherited the crown from his beloved mother and now, King Charles lll is my favourite due to his commitment to the nation, our people, his humbleness and his simple humanity and humour.”

Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh was also a popular choice with five percent (203 people) of the vote, while five-year-old Prince Louis was the favourite royal child with three percent (122 people) backing him.

Queen Camilla, Prince George and Princess Charlotte each received less than two percent of votes. A further four percent (167 people) answered “other” while 33 people said they did not know.

Username JL77 said that their favourite royals were the “Princess of Wales and Louis”.

While username ChwaraeTeg remarked: “I think that all members of the British Royal Family are highly valued by most people.”
