Queen: Commentators on dog ‘interrupting’ filming
Royal commentators have picked over recent footage of the Queen enjoying a touching moment with her favourite pet corgi, Candy. The dog interrupted the monarch during filming for her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years on the British throne. ITV Royal commentators Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson discussed the clip in their latest podcast.
Mr Ship told Royal Rota: "Anyone else that interrupted the Queen during the filming session would it be like giving a very very stern look.
"However, there wasn't anyone else it was Candy."
In the clip, the Queen can be seen asking her pet pooch: "And where did you come from? I know what you want."
Mr Ship continued: "'I know what you want' we presumed meant you want to treat don't you, dog."
Ms Robinson added: "I presume so.
"I just thought she spoke to Candy with real affection, didn't she."
The Queen will begin her Platinum Jubilee year with a series of major events as the country gears up for celebrations to honour the monarch's 70-year reign.
The monarch is expected to be seen in public with the Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the first time in months at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on March 14.
