Kate and William show up world leaders as Cambridges pick environmental journey to COP26
KATE, The Duchess and Cambridge, and Prince William have put their money where their mouth is and have travelled to the COP26 Summit with their carbon footprint in mind.
Kate and William: Lorraine on royal’s train journey to COP26
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William travelled to Glasgow to join Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall at the COP26 climate summit as Queen Elizabeth stayed back at Windsor Castle to rest. The pair chose to travel by train, and then electric car as they really made an effort to reduce their carbon footprint. They have been praised for their efforts, as the Royal Family has faced scrutiny since they decided to publicly speak out about the climate crisis.
It comes after Prince Charles has been accused of hypocrisy after it came to light that he was to travel to the COP26 summit by private jet.
It was then reported that the Royal Family have collectively flown 545,161 air miles over the last five years, according to new research, eough to “get them to the moon and back, and then complete three loops of the earth’s equator”.
ITV host Lorraine Kelly discussed the Cambridge's transport with royal expert Russell Myers.
Lorraine said: "I hope it's not just hot air from everyone and actually something does get done."

"I like the fact that William and Kate just came up on the train, a scheduled train, rather than flying.
"Boris Johnsons getting a lot of flack because he's going to fly back rather than get the train.
"Wouldn't it be great if we had trains that were quicker? If we could do that it would be so much better.
"You're there experiencing the atmosphere of all this, do you get the sense that there is a real will to actually make something happen here."

Mr Myers added: "Well I hope so, speaking to a lot of people who are in these meetings hour after hour and I think the will has changed."
World leaders and well-known figures have gathered in Glasgow to meet up for the international summit.
Aiming to tackle the looming issue of climate change, collaboration is one of the key goals of the event.

China’s president Xi Jinping has faced criticism for not attending the summit in person.
It is said that he will address delegates on in the form of a written statement.
Mr Jinping has avoided foreign travel since before the coronavirus pandemic began in early 2020.
The Kremlin also announced Russia's President Vladmir Putin will also not attend.
