The Queen was expected to visit Scotland next week for the COP26 summit in Glasgow. But Buckingham Palace has now confirmed the Queen will not be attending the event. The news comes after the Queen was admitted to a hospital on October 20 for "preliminary investigations".
Why is the Queen not attending COP26 next week?
The Queen will follow "advice to rest" and miss the COP26 summit in Glasgow next week, according to Buckingham Palace.
A Palace spokesman said: "Following advice to rest, The Queen has been undertaking light duties at Windsor Castle.
"Her Majesty has regretfully decided that she will no longer travel to Glasgow to attend the evening reception of Cop26 on Monday, November 1.

"Her Majesty is disappointed not to attend the reception but will deliver an address to the assembled delegates via a recorded video message."
Prime Minister Boris Johnson, world leaders and other members of the Royal Family are expected to attend the widely-publicised summit next week.
ITV News' Royal Editor Chris Ship tweeted: "The Queen's decision to pull out of the big UN summit on such an important issue as climate change is a blow.
Why was the Queen in hospital last week?
On Tuesday, October 19, the Queen hosted a reception at Windsor Castle for the global investment summit.
But it was later announced that the Queen stayed overnight in hospital on Wednesday, October 20.

The reason for the Queen's hospital stay was unspecified but understood not to be coronavirus-related.
The Queen subsequently cancelled her two-day trip to Northern Ireland following medical advice.
The Queen was back at her desk on Thursday, October 21, the Palace said.
The Palace said the Queen was in "good spirits" the day after her first overnight stay at a medical facility in eight years.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said late last Thursday: "Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits."
After following medical advice to rest, the Queen was back to work on Tuesday this week.
The Queen carried out several virtual audiences from Windsor Castle for her first official engagements since being ordered to rest by doctors.
Members of the Royal Family expected to attend the summit next week without the Queen include Prince Charles, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
