Princess Anne caused 'abject terror' with skills says Malone
Royal commentator Carol Malone has described the moment Princess Anne caused "abject terror" with a display of military prowess while on a royal tour in Germany. The Princess Royal visited British troops based in Germany in 1969 on behalf of the Royal Family. The royal drove a British battle tank much to the shock of royal watchers at the time, she also demonstrated a fulsome ability with a submachine gun.
Ms Malone said: "We were all kind of knocked out when she was nineteen and she went to Germany on a job, and we were getting pictures back of her.
"She is the holder of a heavy good vehicle license, and we saw her driving a 52-ton Chieftan tank.
"Astonishing, she also on that trip fired a submachine gun from the hip and got eight bullseyes.
"I think there will be lots of men looking at her in abject terror."
"Here she was a young woman and she was capable of doing all of this?"
Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's only daughter celebrated turning 71 last month.
True Royalty TV co-founder Nick Bullen took the opportunity to heap praise on the hard-working Princess.
"Princess Anne is a fascinating and beloved character in Britain," he told Fox News.
Princess Anne's 'underrated style' discussed by commentators
"She’s probably the hardest-working member of the royal family who takes on the most engagements," continued Mr Bullen.
"She’s survived a kidnapping, she participated in the Olympics.
"She also gained an international fan base thanks to ‘The Crown,’ on Netflix, which has portrayed her as strong-willed but overshadowed by her brothers.
"Her story is a great one worthy of being told."

He went on to say: "I’ve been lucky to film Princess Anne a few times and she is absolutely fantastic.
"I believe she’s learned so much from her parents, particularly from her father.
She’s learned that you can be a working royal and support all of your charities and patronages without becoming a celebrity.
She’s never been caught in the middle of fame. She’s never cared for celebrity. And I believe that’s what people admire the most about her."
