Princess Beatrice shares the same names as all English queens since 1910, according to royal commentator Wesley Kerr. Mr Kerr was speaking about the princess and her sister, Princess Eugenie, on Channel 5's new documentary: 'Beatrice and Eugenie: Pampered Princesses?'. Experts also revealed Prince Andrew's desire for his daughters to be known as senior royals.

Royal biographer, Ingrid Seward spoke about Beatrice's birth: "The same 'Beatrice' was really from Queen Victoria's daughter, Beatrice.

"That was the relative she was named after."

Mr Kerr added: "She's 'Beatrice Elizabeth Mary'.

"So Beatrice has the name of all English queens since 1910."

Within two years, Sarah Ferguson gave birth to another Princess.

Vanity Fair's Royal Editor, Katie Nicholl, told Channel 5: "Princess Eugenie arrived 19 months after her sister, Beatrice, in the March of 1990.

"I think everyone was still wishing the Yorks well and this was an exciting new addition for the family.

"Even if people weren't quite sure how to pronounce Eugenie's name."

Prince Andrew's children would be Royal Highnesses and princesses unless he said he didn't want them to have titles.

Princess Anne had turned down titles for her children, Peter and Zara Phillips.

But the Duke and Duchess of York wanted their children to have all the privileges of senior royals.

Ms Seward added: "They very much wanted them to be princesses and thought that maybe they would certainly end up as working royals.

"Prince Andrew's insisted that his girls be treated as senior royals."

Unlike their cousins, Prince William, and formerly Prince Harry, Beatrice and Eugenie do not undertake royal duties.

Beatrice previously worked at Sandbridge, a private equity firm, as well as Sony Pictures.

Eugenie works as a director for Hauser & Wirth art gallery in London where she organises and oversees various events and art fairs.
