PRINCE WILLIAM and Kate's "enormous" Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace has 20 rooms from the basement to the attic according to a royal commentator.

During True Royalty's Royal Beat Kate Thornton, Ingrid Seward, Richard Kay and Christopher Warwick discussed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's luxurious home. Mr Kay stated that Apartment 1A is pretty grand inside.
Ms Thornton said: "The 1A suggests it is quite a tiny place, that is not the case at all is it."
Ms Seward replied: "It is enormous."
Ms Thornton asked: "How many rooms would you say?"
Mr Warwick responded: "It has 20 rooms from the basement to the attic, it is not a small house."

Ms Thornton said: "Why is it called an apartment?"
Mr Warwick replied: "All of these royal residences at Kensington Palace are called apartments which of course makes people immediately think they are flats like the American term for an apartment meaning it is a flat.
"They are not. If you think of Kensington Place in a way it is built around three courtyards.
"If you kind of think of them as being these wonderful red brick terrace houses if you like.

"Because they are all joined but separate houses."
Mr Kay added: "It is pretty grand inside."
It comes as Kate was revealed to be under strict rules at Kensington Palace as the royal is stopped from following in the footsteps of Princess Diana.
Prince Harry told royal biographer Ingrid Seward that Kate is forced to walk her English Cocker Spaniel named Lupo in a private field.

Ms Seward explained: "Harry felt Kensington Palace was a prison.
"He was saying that Kate can't even walk her dog in Kensington Gardens like Diana used to go jogging.
"She can only walk it around the sort of private field.
"He said it is definitely a prison and he was desperate to get out."
