Prince William tweets rare personal message as Duke celebrates return of football
PRINCE WILLIAM has celebrated the return of football in a rare personal tweet on the official Twitter account he shares with wife Kate.

The Duke of Cambridge revealed he had missed watching football as he thank “everyone involved” for making it happen. Prince William signed the tweet ‘W’. He wrote: “So good to have football back, we have all missed it! Thank you to everyone involved for your hard work in making it happen. W”
William and Kate rarely tweet from their official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Twitter account as it is largely run by their press and social media teams.
However, when the second in line to the throne does tweet it is usually about football or rugby.
A massive Aston Villa fan William will be undoubtedly thrilled his team one of the first teams to play as the Premier League restarts tonight.
Aston Villa plays Sheffield United at 6pm, however, spectators have been limited to around 300 people in the stadium.
Manchester City and then play Arsenal at 8.15pm tonight.
Prince William tweet delighted royal fans with many enjoying its personal touch.
One Twitter replied: “Don’t know why, but the initial “W” looks and sounds very regal and King-like!”

While others just responded with variations of “hello William”.
Another fan wrote with a lion emoji: “Go Villa!”
Prince William conducted his first in-person royal engagement since the lockdown began with a visit to the King’s Lynn Ambulance.
The Duke of Cambridge praised ambulance staff who have been working on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic and joked about the one thing he’s missed most during lockdown.

Meanwhile, his wife Kate has been busy with her photography project Hold Still which she launched during lockdown to encourage people capture a snapshot of the UK during this unprecedented time.
Today she released another video urging people to participate before submissions close tomorrow evening.
The Duchess of Cambridge will personally select 100 photographs for the Hold Still exhibition in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, of which she is the royal patron.
So far submissions have shown scene of everyday life in lockdown from haircuts done at home to the chaos of homeschooling as well as snapshots on the NHS frontline.
