KATE, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William may be forced to financially support Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new celebrity lifestyle once they take on new titles because of a royal precedent.
Meghan Markle: Decision to move to LA is ‘strange’ says expert
Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are expected in a few years to take on the titles of Duke and Duchess of Cornwall from Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall after Charles becomes king. The new styles will grant Kate and William the use of the fund the lucrative Duchy of Cornwall generates each year. But with the precedent Prince Charles set of providing his children with additional money from the Duchy, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may have to continue providing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with extra funds once they take on the new titles.
According to online magazine The Talko, Prince William may show some "brotherly love" towards Harry and agree to continue paying for his brother and Meghan's new life in Los Angeles.
The magazine reported: "Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be stepping down from their royal duties but they are still part of the family.
"They are giving up a significant source of income and it’s expected that Prince Charles will privately subsidise their lifestyles.
"When Prince William inherits the rights to the Duchy of Cornwall, it’s likely that he and Kate will be responsible for helping out Harry and Meghan if they need it."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been widely relying on money from the Duchy of Cornwall, with their website showing the funds Prince Charles has been passing them makes up nearly 95 percent of their annual income.
Meghan and Harry confirmed they will no longer make use of money from the royal purse in their bid to become "financially independent" from the Royal Family but it remains unclear whether they will also reject Charles' help.
The magazine continued: "Being a working member of the Royal Family can be a full-time job but it’s one that doesn’t pay particularly well.

"That’s when Prince Charles steps in and helps make up the difference with funds he receives from the Duchy of Cornwall.
"Before Prince Harry married Meghan Markle, Prince Charles was spending over $1.2 million per year to help out with expenses for William, Harry and Kate.
"When Prince William takes his father’s position, he’ll likely have to financially support Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis even when they’re all grown up."
The Duke of Cambridge is expected to take on the management of the £1-billion Duchy of Cornwall Estate as soon as Prince Charles becomes king.

To prepare for his new role, Prince William last year began attending Palace meeting to discuss the requirements of the huge managerial position.
The Duchy was first established under Edward III in 1337 and has since expanded to cover 21 counties across the southwest of England.
Royal expert Charlie Proctor told The Daily Star Online in February: “Just like Prince Charles is preparing to become King, William is already preparing to become Prince of Wales ready for the duties and responsibilities he will have to take on.
“As an example, William recently left his job as an air ambulance pilot to become a full time working royal.
“As time goes on his presence becomes ever more important meaning he has to commit all of his working time to royal duties.”
