Meghan Markle ‘cut umbilical cord’ from royals says Daubney
Meghan Markle, 38, and Prince Harry, 35, officially stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family on March 31 and begun in a new life in America where they will finance themselves independently. But former Brexit Party MEP Martin Daubney has hit out at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for pursuing their private life during the coronavirus pandemic as the Queen and other senior members attempt to boost the morale of Britons with video messages and calls. Mr Daubney went on to say Meghan and Harry have "cut the umbilical cord" from the Royal Family in Britain's "darkest hour".
Speaking on the Jeremy Vine show, Mr Daubney said: "What I think, just 24 hours after the Queen's emotional speech, we have here the embodiment of sheer pointlessness of this couple now.
"What they could have done during this time is lend time and efforts to their country.
"I'm a patriot as you can probably tell.
"I'm a royalist, I think the Royal Family are fantastic.

"But in a month's time, it will baby Archie's first birthday.
"I think a lot of us were expecting that since they've given us Archie gifts and little Archie drops in the past that that would be the account we would see some sort of Archie birthday wish for his big milestone.
