THE QUEEN made a touching tribute to Commonwealth Day via the official royal family Instagram account.
Queen arrives at Commonwealth Service in Westminster Abbey
Paying tribute to Commonwealth Day 2020, the Queen posted a touching message to Instagram in reference to the 54 member countries. March 9 marked the annual day of celebrations observed by people all over the Commonwealth in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and Americas, the Pacific and Europe.
The post - several photographs of the Queen in the various member countries throughout the years - was accompanied by a heartwarming caption.
It read: “After more than 70 years of its existence, the Commonwealth is a remarkable organisation which remains a major force for change in the world today.
“During her reign, The Queen has visited every country in the Commonwealth (with the exception of Cameroon, which joined in 1995 and Rwanda which joined in 2009) and made many repeat visits.
“One third of The Queen's total overseas visits are to Commonwealth countries.”
Members of the royal family gathered at Westminster Abbey to mark the day, paying their respects to the multiculturalism, art, and performances.
Many reacted positively to the Instagram post, sharing their enthusiasm with the longest-reigning British monarch.
One person wrote: “You are beautiful.”
Another said: “I hope the Queen knows how much she is loved.”

A third follower wrote: “A very strong wonderful woman.
“I have the utmost respect for the Queen and her amazing work ethic, especially for a woman well into her nineties!”
The day also marked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s last public appearance as working members of the Royal Family.
The couple have been carrying out a series of public appearances in the UK before stepping back as working royals.

The pair will stop using their HRH titles and receiving public money from March 31.
They joined the Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the central London church.
However, last minute logistical changes meant the Cambridges and the Sussex’s were led straight to their seats, rather than waiting for the Queen and taking part in the procession as they did in 2019.
Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace have not said why the late amendment was made.
For many, the presence of Meghan and Harry was a momentous occasion given they had not appeared in public with other members of the royal family since January.
It was then that the pair announced they would be stepping back from senior royal duties via an Instagram post.
During the service, Rwandan drummers and dancers sang songs, while singers Craig David and Alexandra Burke gave shows.
Hymns, and a reading from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, also featured.
While Prince Harry touched forearms with Craig David as they met at the end of the service - in nod to the coronavirus outbreak - Meghan opted for a hug.
Members of the congregation had been advised not to shake hands, a spokeswoman for Westminster Abbey told the BBC.
