THE ROYAL FAMILY are using social media more and more to speak about their work, celebrate charities and commemorate one another. Now one royal has issued a touching tribute to the Queen for International Women's Day.

Today - March 8, 2020, is International Women’s Day, and it is a time to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Princess Eugenie took the day as a chance to praise several female role models in her life, one of whom was her grandmother, the Queen.
On her Instagram story in view of her one million followers, Eugenie wrote: “Today and every day I celebrate women.
“On International Women’s Day 2020, I wanted to share with you some of the women that have and do inspire me.
“I want them to know how special and amazing they are.
“Why don’t we all tell the incredible women in our life that we think they are awesome…”

In her tributes, Eugenie recognised three royal ladies close to her heart.
First, Eugenie paid tribute to her mother Sarah Ferguson posting two pictures of her, one of which was of a young Eugenie and her sister Beatrice with their mother.
Of her mother, Eugenie wrote: “My beautiful momma has been a constant inspiration since the day I was born.
“She has taught me so much of what it is to feel empowered as a woman.”
Next Eugenie paid tribute to her older sister Princess Beatrice.
Sharing a cute picture of herself and her sister Eugenie wrote: “What can I say - she’s the greatest and has been there for me since I was born.
“Beatrice has been an inspirational big sister since 1990.”
Finally, Eugenie praised her grandmother the Queen with a throwback image of the monarch smiling at the camera.

She wrote: “Her Majesty, The Queen, my grandmother, has dedicated her life to so many others.
“She has taught me so much by her wonderful example.”
However, royal woman were not the only ones which garnered praise from Eugenie, as she offered thanks to charity workers and one rather special nurse.
The princess honoured Dr Olivia Chapple, who created a garden in her son Horatio’s memory and founders of the Teenage Cancer Trust Myrna and Adrian Whiteson.
Also featured were Baroness Lola Young who fights against human trafficking and Trustee of Elephant Family and Co-Founder of Elephant Family USA Ruth Ganesh.
Eugenie also praised Aloka Mitra, who founded the Women’s Interlink Foundation in 1990, which fights for women’s rights and against human trafficking.
The royal also paid tribute to nurse Mags McHugh, who was her nurse after an eight-hour operation at the National Orthopaedic Hospital.
Eugenie was in intensive care following the operation and praised Mags for continuing to save lives daily.
Eugenie specifically asked for her wedding dress to showcase the scar on her back from her corrective surgery.
Also taking the time to post about International Women’s Day on social media - the official Royal Family Instagram account added an image of the Queen in her Grenadier Guards Uniform during the first Trooping the Colour in 1953.
The caption read: “The Queen in her Grenadier Guards uniform during her first Trooping the Colour as Monarch in 1953.
“Her Majesty is Head of the Armed Forces, Head of the Commonwealth, Head of State in 16 countries and the longest reigning Sovereign in British history.”
