The Royal Family will survive the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ split, Express.co.uk readers overwhelmingly said. In a poll that has run between January 13 at 2.55pm and January 14 at 10.00am, voters expressed their view on the future of monarchy at this time of crisis. And 86 percent of them, amounting to 14,427 people, believe the Royal Family is solid enough to survive this split.
On the other hand, 11 percent of the voters, 1,875 people, said the Crown won’t survive this bombshell exit.
Out of a total of 16,896 voters, only 594, the three percent, said they didn’t know.
Several voters argued the Queen and the Royal Family have survived worse than this crisis.
One said: “Of course they will survive, the institution is bigger than one couple and they’ve been through worse.”
Another said: “For sure they will [survive].
“The Queen not only has her family supporting her, but that of her country.”
Others said the Royal Family could come out even stronger from the crisis sparked last week by Meghan and Harry’s statement.

One said: “Yes, of course they will - they have a huge amount of support throughout the country, and beyond these shores - this is a hiccup that will possibly make support for them, especially the Queen, even stronger…”
Another voter added: “Actually I think this has made the Royal Family more popular.
“If Prince Charles is firm about sticking to the rules, this may turn out to be the best thing to happen to the monarchy for years.”
However, this voter added, this split will likely resonate negatively within the Royal Family “in their private capacity”.
Other voters urged the Queen to keep her “head over heart” during discussions with Prince Harry and Meghan over their future.
According to one voter, the Royal Family could face troubled water if the Queen “is perceived as being too lenient” towards Meghan and Harry.
Finally, one voter said that the “only way to survive” this crisis is to strip Meghan and Harry of their HRH style and refuse to provide any funding for them.
Meghan and Prince Harry expressed their intention to step back as senior royals and carve out a new progressive role within the Royal Family last Wednesday in a message published on Instagram and their new website, SussexRoyal.com.
This bombshell statement, plunged the Royal Family into a crisis, but the Queen has demanded royals and senior aides to act swiftly and quickly to find a solution and avoid dragging it out for months.
Yesterday, the monarch met with Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry to discuss possible ways forward.
Following the meeting, the monarch released a brief statement, where she acknowledged Meghan and Harry’s desire to change their royal status while expressing her feelings over it.
She said: “Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family.
“My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family.
“Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.
“Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives.
“It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK.
“These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”
