PRINCE PHILIP is unlikely to join his wife the Queen and other members of the Royal Family on their traditional walk back to Sandringham from Church on Christmas Day, former royal press Secretary Charles Anson said.
Prince Philip won't attend church on Christmas day says expert
Prince Philip returned home to Sandringham after spending three days in a central London hospital to have a "pre-existing condition" monitored. The Duke of Edinburgh was seen leaving Marylebone's King Edward VI hospital on Tuesday morning before being taken back to Norfolk residence in time to spend the Christmas holidays with the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family. But Philip, 98, is unlikely to join the Queen and their family in their traditional Christmas Day walk, according to former royal press secretary Charlies Anson.
Speaking to BBC News, Mr Anson said: "The gathering is marked on Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day in that sort of long European tradition.
"Tomorrow the Queen and members of the family will go to Church. Whether Prince Philip goes with them, he hasn’t always gone in the last year or two…he will not necessarily go to Church tomorrow.
"I doubt he would as he’s just come out of hospital."
In a statement released after Prince Philip left hospital, Buckingham Palace said: "The Duke of Edinburgh has today left hospital after being discharged by his Doctor and is now back at Sandringham.

"His Royal Highness would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes."
News the Duke of Edinburgh left the hospital came after his firstborn Prince Charles opened up about his father's hospitalisation during an engagement.
During a visit to flood-hit communities in South Yorkshire on Monday, Charles was asked about the Duke's health by a reporter.
The Prince of Wales said: "He's being looked after very well in hospital.

"At the moment that's all we know."
The Prince of Wales was later asked again by a well-wisher in Fishlake, who told him: "Sir, how is your father?"
Prince Charles replied: "Alright. When you get to that age things don't work so well."
The palace didn't share details about what Prince Philip's pre-existing condition was, but the statement was followed by several claims the Duke hasn't been feeling well in the past few weeks.

Prince Philip retired from royal duties in 2017 and has since been spending most of his time at Sandringham's Wood Farm, one of his favourite royal residences.
He has since attended family events including the wedding of granddaughter Princess Eugenie in October 2018 and later the nuptials of the Queen's cousin, Lady Gabriella Windsor, in March this year.
Earlier this year, the Duke was involved in a car accident as he drove around the Sandringham Estate. He has since renounced his driving licence.
Philip will be reuniting with the Queen after the two spent their 72nd wedding anniversary apart in November because of Her Majesty's busy schedule.
