Kate’s revelation to Mary Berry about her one-year-old son came during the TV chef’s show A Very Berry Christmas.
The Duchess said: “One of Louis’s first words was Mary, because right at his height are all my cooking books in the kitchen bookshelf.
“Your face is all over your books and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry’... he would definitely recognise you if he saw you today.”
Kate and husband Prince William teamed up with Mary, 85, to host a party for people volunteering over Christmas for charities and organisations. She said of the couple: “They don’t just arrive and shake a few hands. They want to get involved and they want to see what they can do.
“And it isn’t just one visit – they come back again and ask for the results and they remember who they spoke to last time. I think that’s remarkable.”
