The Queen’s morning drink revealed and it’s not what you’d expect
ROYAL fans have always believed the Queen enjoys a traditional cup of English breakfast tea as she starts her day. But some may be shocked to discover Her Majesty actually drinks Earl Grey in the mornings.
Queen’s morning dress routine revealed by royal insider
The 93-year-old has her tea poured from silver pots into a bone china cup and dips in tea biscuits, according to Reader’s Digest. The Queen doesn’t tend to drink her tea with sugar in it, but she will have some milk added in. She also reportedly listens to the radio while sipping her tea.
Once her cup is empty, she will then eat Special K cereal and fruit to give her energy for the rest of the day.
Her husband Prince Philip used to join her around 8.30am.
But this may no longer be the case as they no longer live in the same house.
After finishing her breakfast, the Queen then picks her outfit for the day.
She apparently doesn’t see her clothes before wearing them.
Former royal butler Paul Burrell said: “All her clothes are kept on the top floor, she calls them.
“And the dresser will being down in the morning two outfits which are sketched with pieces of material clipped.”
The Queen also loves wearing colourful clothes that match her hat.
Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, previously revealed why.
She said: “She needs to stand out for people to say ‘I saw the Queen’.
“Don’t forget that when she turns up elsewhere, the crowds are two, three, four, 10, 15 deep.
"Someone wants to be able to say they saw a bit of the Queen’s hat as she went past.”
