Baby Archie christening: When will Archie be baptised? What date and time?
BABY Archie Harrison will be baptised into the Anglican faith this weekend. So when are we expecting the christening?
Meghan Markle: Private christening 'looks entitled' says expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcomed Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6. They have kept their baby’s life very private since, receiving some criticism for deciding to keep the christening private. Royal christenings are usually not open to the public, but held in public spaces so fans can see the royals come and go.
When is the christening?
Archie will be christened on Saturday, July 6, exactly two months after his birth.
The exact timing is not known, but if previous royal christenings are anything to go by it’ll likely be in the morning.
What else do we know about the christening?
Meghan and Harry have chosen the Queen’s private chapel in Windsor Castle for the christening.
The Queen will not be in attendance, as the palace said she has prior engagements.
There will be about 25 members of family and friends present, and no press will be allowed but pictures will be released afterward.
Archie will wear the traditional Windsor garment for the day, a replica of the Honiton lace christening gown commissioned by Queen Victoria for the baptism of her first child, Princess Victoria, in 1841.
His brow will be doused with water from the River Jordan from the royal Lily Font.
The ceremony will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, the Rev David Conner, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.
