Meghan Markle and Harry had household request DENIED by Queen to 'keep an eye' on them
MEGHAN MARKLE and Prince Harry were denied a royal household of their own after they split from Kensington Palace, as the Queen wanted to “keep an eye” on them, a royal expert has claimed.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry denied 'autonomy' says expert
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry split from Kensington Palace earlier this year as the royal couple prepared to become new parents. A royal expert has suggested when they split from Prince William and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, the Sussexes’ wanted a royal household of their own. But, ITV’s royal expert Chris Ship claimed the “most high profile” couple were “not allowed” their own household.
He told ITV News’ AirTime: “Whilst they are perhaps, you could argue, the most high profile of all the royals at the moment, they come under the wing of Buckingham Palace.
“They were not allowed to have their own autonomous household.”
When asked why not, Mr Ship replied: “You would have to ask the Palace. There is some speculation that the Queen wanted to keep an eye on this young and very dynamic couple.
“Therefore, they kept them in the fold.”
They were not allowed to have their own autonomous household
He added: “They don’t have their own autonomous household. We think they wanted one.
“We think they were pushing to have one but, in the end, it was decided for whatever reason that both Harry and Meghan would sit within Buckingham Palace.
“Therefore their communications chief reports to Buckingham Palace’s communications chief.”
Prince Harry and Meghan moved into their new home, Frogmore Cottage, shortly before the birth of their first child, Archie Harrison, earlier this month.
The five-bedroom house on the grounds of Windsor Castle underwent extensive renovations before they moved in.
A source has said the “energy is so much better” at the couple’s new residence compared to what it was like in their former residence in Kensington Palace.
A source told People magazine: “Their home is so cute and warm.
“The energy of the space is so much better (than Kensington Palace). It’s a total fresh start.”
Meghan Markle: Prince Harry has 'lost friendships' says expert
Meghan and Prince Harry, 34, earlier this month welcomed their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, born on Monday, May 6, weighing in at 7lbs 3oz.
When the baby boy was just two days old, the royal couple introduced him to the world in a touching photocall.
When answering questions from reporters, Harry joked the baby had “already got a little bit of facial hair” while Meghan said baby Archie had “been a dream”.
