MEGHAN Markle is currently in Morocco with her husband Harry, just days after flying to New York to attend her extravagant baby shower. But is pregnant Meghan safe to get a traditional Moroccan henna tattoo?
Meghan Markle and Kate are 'polar opposite' says expert
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are carrying out a three day visit to Morocco this weekend at the request of Queen. The couple touched down at Casablanca Airport yesterday evening, where they met the British Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas Reilly, and his wife Alix. Prince Harry then attended a Guard of Honour later tonight.
The royal couple will visit a boarding house in the town of Ansi today, before spending the evening at a reception in Rabat, which will be hosted by Mr Reilly.
But Meghan is believed to be 32 weeks pregnant, so is she safe to get a traditional Moroccan henna tattoo?
Henna is traditionally applied to expectant mothers in countries such as Morocco and India during the third trimester of pregnancy.
They are believed to bless both the mother and child, as well as ward away any evil spirits which may be close by during labour.
Henna can also be applied after pregnancy, as it is believed to keep away the same spirits that could cause disease, depression or preventing bonding with the child.
Meghan and Harry will have to make some adjustments to protect their safety in other ways during the trip.
“From my own personal experiences 'our man' will question the Moroccans’ ability to deal with it.
“The fact that there is no Royal walkabout is very telling.
“This would suggest that the UK protection team who did the original recce saw this as a red line.
“Executing an evacuation is naturally fraught with dangers.
“One thing is for sure, Meghan’s propensity for getting among the crowds will not be encouraged on this trip.”
