Mattress cleaning can be a daunting task, but one clever mum has shared a brilliant tip to simplify the process.

Sleeping surfaces can become unsightly with various types of blemishes, from unfortunate spills to the annoying streaks left behind by self-tan.

It might seem like curtains for your mattress when it gets stained since you cannot simply pop it into the washing machine.

Yet, money-saving mum Vicki Collis has revealed a "game-changing" method for sprucing up your mattress without spending fortunes, costing just a mere £1.50.

Taking to Instagram, Vicki recounted how she faced what seemed an unwinnable battle against a nasty stain left by her daughter's accident.

Believing the mattress was ruined, she found a mattress-cleaning tip online and decided to test it out the outcome was nothing short of miraculous.

She captioned her video post: "The hack you didn't know you needed! Ada spilt her milk in our bed, and whilst trying to dry it we made a huge stain. I thought there was no way this would come out, but came across this mattress-cleaning hack so gave it a go. Wow, is all I can say! Game changer! Works on all stains and is super easy to do," reports the Mirror.

People can clean the mattress on a budget with this viral internet trick, costing you less than £2.

Pick up white vinegar for a mere 35p at Tesco, bicarbonate of soda for just 65p from the same store, and dish soap as low as 55p from Asda. With these three items, which total around £1.50 collectively, you can concoct a powerful cleaning solution.
