The satisfaction of a brand-new, crisp white t-shirt, blouse or dress to spruce up your wardrobe is undeniable. However, we're all too familiar with the frustration that follows as pristine whites degrade to a dull grey after a few washes.

For parents with school-age children, the battle to maintain the whiteness of their shirts often feels like a losing one, as they quickly surrender their fresh look after just a few uses. But thankfully a TikTok cleaning guru has shared an 'unbelievable' hack to keep whites beaming bright - urging others to follow suit.

Kaye Marie, a cleaning sensation with a whopping 434.8k followers, frequently posts about her domestic life and offers tips on maintaining a tidy home.

Faced with the challenge of keeping her own childrens white school attire sparkling, she discovered a failsafe method that not only vanishes stains but restores clothes to their original radiance.

This trick isn't limited to school attire - it's a universal solution for anyone wanting to revive any white garment to its former glory without having to dash out for a replacement. Opening her instructional video, Kaye Marie urges: "If you're struggling to keep your children's school shirts white, this video is for you."

If there are any visible stains, like on collars, simply apply some dish soap directly and scrub it in to help break it down before throwing them in the wash. Yet, her ultimate 'secret weapon' for achieving dazzling whites is Spanish whitening tablets, which Kaye hailed as 'unbelievable', reports the Daily Record.

Just drop a few into your washing machine drum with some laundry detergent and run your wash at either 40C or 60C. The specific brand endorsed by Kaye can be purchased from The Little Spanish Cleaning Company at the modest price of £3.

However, if you can't get your hands on these, Milton sterilising tablets from Boots can serve as a substitute, retailing at £3.35 for a pack of 40. After laundering, Kaye displayed the now impeccably clean shirts, proclaiming they were 'absolutely perfect', without a single stain or mark in sight.

Numerous fans expressed their gratitude in the comments section of her post, sharing their own tried-and-tested methods for eradicating stubborn school-uniform stains.

One person exclaimed: "Oh this will be a lifesaver, thank you! " Another confirmed: "I've followed you since you last posted this and can confirm it works."

A third chimed in: "Another good tip is to dry them in direct sunlight."
