Sainsbury's shopper stunned by pizza's discount sticker - and questions if its a mistake
A Sainsbury's customer has shared his disbelief after spotting a pizza in the reduced section of his local supermarket on sale for a staggeringly low cost.
Bargain hunters are always on the prowl in supermarket reduced sections, but one Sainsbury's shopper has hit the jackpot with a find he believes is unbeatable.
Posting on Reddit, the customer shared an image of a pizza from Sainsbury's premium Taste the Difference line that he snagged for an astonishingly low price. The wood-fired pizza, topped with spicy Italian pepperoni and roquito peppers, usually sells for £5.
But this lucky man struck gold when he discovered the pizza marked down to a mere four pence. "I don't think I'm ever beating this one," he boasted. "I didn't think it would actually ring up that price, but lo and behold, 4p."
The post sparked speculation among other Reddit users, with one suggesting that perhaps a staff member had priced it so cheaply so they could buy it for themselves later. "Good chance the person with the yellow sticker printer had this one earmarked for themselves," they commented.
"Was it near the back of the fridge shelf, slightly hidden from view?" However, the original poster dismissed the conspiracy theory, attributing the low price to a simple mistake.

"It was the last one on the shelf, it was in the normal place they keep them, not the discount section," the original poster clarified. "Also best before date is tomorrow. Definitely thinking it was a mistake."
Meanwhile, other Redditors expressed admiration for the man's incredible deal. One quipped: "I'd be listing this as a favourite achievement on a dating site, my cv, in my eulogy." Another chimed in: "That would be a win at ten times the price."

A jealous third person remarked: "4p is how much it would have been reduced by at our Sainsburys." Whilst a fourth quipped: "They definitely meant to put £4 here, great find, 10/10 work from the staff member."
Recalling a similiar sucess, another person penned: "I managed to pop in Morrisons the other week where they had those wrapped counter pizzas for one (ham and cheese) for 14p each, snapped up all 4 for the freezer!"
